  • Crux Research (developer of the R.A.Sp1 Bow Hunting Sight) is a small business passionate about development. Crux have been involved in a few developments that we are very proud of. Developments such as the CRAR-32 and GR40 sights for assault rifles and 40mm Grenade Launchers have seen the light with state of the art technology. Ballistic profiles of 32 different ammunition types can be programmed via an infra red port to the GR40 sight. 
  • This technology has brought us to a point where we could develop a sight for the Bow Hunting market. This sight (R.A.S.p1) will not only enable you to a more precise shot placement but also at the same time compensate for shooting angle and give you the last measured distance to 0.5 yard accuracy through a bright OLED display.

Meet the Development Team

PictureDanie Kriek
Danie has over 40 years experience in the development and manufacturing industry. He has been part of major South African Military strategic missions. Danie has been in the military market since he finished school.

Renier has been working with Danie Kriek (Father) since he finished school. Together they have been involved in the development of various products such as military sights for assault and also 40mm grenade launchers.  
PictureFrik Venter
Frik has been involved with Danie and Renier since 2003 and has been mainly responsible for electronic hardware design. In 2008 Danie, Renier, and Frik to team up and start their own business called Crux Research CC. Frik has more than 23 years experience in design, development and manufacturing of electronics and pc boards. Frik was also in charge of the electronics team that developed the Lotus Elize sports car dash board controls.
Micheal Venter

Micheal is also working on a contract basis for Crux. Micheal is also the brother of Frik Venter. He is also part of the software team and is mainly responsible for the mathematical side of things.
PictureJimmy Whatley
Jimmy and Danie have been friends for a very long time. Danie met Jimmy during a project he had in South Africa. Jimmy lives in Valdosta, Georgia and is passionate about hunting. Jimmy devotes a lot of his time to teaching children all over the US about turkey hunting. He is also a ambassador for ethical hunting in the USA. He has a saying that goes “I hunt 6 days a week and on the 7th I rest”

David and Jimmy have been close friends for a very long time. David met Danie and Renier for the first time in 2005 in Valdosta, and this was where the dream of the P.A.P was born. David had an idea to build a bow sight that could range a target and give a sight marker automatically  and suggested that Crux develop a bow hunting sight that has the technology of  the military versions. David owned a bow shop in the 1980's and is also passionate about bow hunting and the outdoors.
